Overnight Parking Request

No vehicles are permitted to be parked on any public streets or public parking lots Within the Village of Ridgewood between 2:00AM and 6:00AM. Village ordinance 265-36

Temporary permission to park overnight on a public street or public parking lot may be granted on a nightly basis for residents with extenuating circumstances (e.g., your driveway is being paved, you have overnight guests with no room in your driveway, or your vehicle is mechanically disabled and cannot be moved from the roadway). The police department has no authority to grant permission on private property such as commercial parking lots/property, Board of Education lots/property, or lots/property belonging to houses of worship.

This online request system will not accept any requests for overnight parking permission after 10:30PM. Any request for overnight parking permission made after 10:30PM must be called in to the Ridgewood Police Department at (201) 652-3900 - option 2.

All submitted requests for overnight parking permission will typically be processed by the on-duty Supervisor no later than 11:00PM. You can anticipate receiving a confirmation or denial message to the email address you have provided once the request has been reviewed by the on-duty Supervisor. Your request is not considered “approved” until you receive a confirmation email.

Overnight parking permission will be DENIED when roadways are impacted by any type of frozen precipitation (e.g., snow, ice, sleet), when frozen precipitation is expected in the overnight forecast, and or when DPW plowing / salting operations are underway.

The Ridgewood Police Department may also deny overnight parking requests due to roadway construction, abuse of the overnight parking permission process, temporary “No-Parking” orders, or any other unforeseen occurrence that would make overnight on-street parking impractical and or dangerous.

Please acknowledge the following stipulations and complete all fields for your request to be processed.

* Inaccurate, false, or misleading information may result in my request being denied, permission invalidated, and my vehicle being ticketed and possibly towed.

* I cannot park overnight on any Village roadway when frozen precipitation is expected in the forecast and or when DPW plowing / salting operations are underway.

* Overnight parking permission already granted will be automatically rescinded without notice in the event of inclement weather as outlined above (e.g., snow, ice, sleet,), and/or when DPW plowing or salting operations are necessary.

* Online requests for overnight parking may be submitted for passenger vehicles ONLY. Requests to park RVs, box trucks, trailers, etc. must be called in to the Police Department at (201) 652-3900 – option 2.

* The Ridgewood Police Department has the right to deny this request, and I am prohibited from parking on the street between 2:00AM and 6:00AM unless I receive a confirmation email granting approval for an exemption.

* My request is for an exemption to the prohibition on overnight Street Parking. Any permission granted applies exclusively to the 2AM – 6AM restriction on overnight parking and does not extend to any other restrictions, ordinances, statutes, regulations, or requirements.
